General Skilled
This targets young, well qualified people with good English language skills whose qualifications and experience have been assessed as suitable. You must have an occupation which is on the current list of skilled occupations. You must be under 45 at the time of application and (unless you are a recent graduate from an Australian University) have 1 or 2 years experience in your profession. This category of visa involves a points test. Extra points will be granted if you have an Australian relative who is prepared to sponsor you or if you have a degree from an Australian University.

Employer Nominations
Australian employers are able to recruit skilled people from overseas when they have been unable to find a suitable Australian to fill the position. There are a number of classes of both permanent and temporary visas available.

Business Skills
If you are a business owner, senior executive or able to make a designated investment then you may be eligible in this category.

Applicants for this visa must be nominated by an Australian organization or person and is only for people who have a record of exceptional achievement in their occupation, field of endeavor or in the arts or sport.
