There are two main types of Australian working visas- a working holiday visa (417) and business sponsorship visas (457). 

Working holiday visa(417) allow young people from countries with a reciprocal agreement with Australia to holiday and work for limited periods in Australia. Only citizens of these countries (Canada, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Japan, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Rep. of Korea, Sweden and United Kingdom)  are eligible for this visa / work permit. The work that these visa holders carry out is incidental to their prime intention of having a holiday in Australia and is subject to certain conditions.

Business sponsorship (457) visa provides for entry and stay for up to 4 years for skilled people with permanent full-time employment in Australia subject to meeting usual immigration criteria. Applicants may be eligible to be sponsored by a lawfully operating reputable Australian company
